Self-Directed Learning

Our approach of self-directed learning is followed in both the curricular and co-curricular fields. We make continuous efforts to understand the learning needs of each student and motivate them to set individual learning goals accordingly.

Learning independently can be challenging, even for the brightest and most motivated student. The process involves being ready to learn, setting learning goals, engaging in the learning process and evaluating their learning.

Students are equipped in the skills of self study and independent learning.

To initiate their independent learning, we provide them with ample learning resources and evaluate their achievements. For this, the school has tied up with different agencies like Khan Academy and Open Door for Math and Science, Educational Initiatives for English where in students take initiatives of their own learning followed by assessment from them and XSeed MAX for Maths, Science and English. These digital modules and online assessments are not a ‘one-time only’ feature. We encourage students to take remediation and attempt the assessment again till they achieve their set goal.

For a number of concepts in all subjects the format of a Flip Classroom is followed that entails watching videos or reading literature before the introduction of the concept to help students construct their knowledge and understand better.

Students learn how to research, construct theories, analyze and communicate their reasoning.
