A walk through the historical legacy of Meerut City

Heritage walk is an opportunity to experience the cultural and historical legacy of a city.It creates a sense of pride among the students when they visit and experience the history itself. On February 7, our students were taken on a Heritage Walk to the largely unexplored city of Meerut where they saw the St. John’s Church and St. John’ s Cemetery to get an insight into the historical significance of the city in the struggle for freedom from the British rule. Dr Amit Pathak- an eminent historian shared crucial information about the importance of these places as an important source of information about the First War of Independence in 1857. The information carved on tablets placed on the walls of the church and memorial stones on the graves in cemetery helped the students analyse historical information from a different perspective
