It is indeed
gratifying to see how much better informed you are today about the world
around you than we were at your age. Certainly a large measure of the
credit goes to the fact that innumerable sources of information are more
readily and widely available today than in the past.
There has
been a manifold increase in world travel, greater emphasis on sharing of
facts and figures that ever before. Students today are more cosmopolitan
and scientific in their outlook, but a word of caution to you young
aspirants. The age-old wisdom of Indian Aryuveda, Yoga, Philoshophy of
religion has passed the test of time and proved most satisfying in
building a wholesome personality. What better norm can we adopt than the
wholesome amalgamation of all that is positive and good in the cultural
traditions of our country tempered by the best the west has to offer.
May you grow
up to be discerning young women, dedicated to the upliftment of society,
burning with patriotic zeal of put your country above parochial
prejudices so that it becomes a bulwark against war and injustice and a
beacon of peace among nations.
